Default Antifreeze ?

I have a 2005 F350 Diesel 6.0L and I want to flush the antifreeze and replace the antifreeze. What do I need to flush the system and what antifreeze do I purchase? I have 62,000 miles on it and I want to change the fluid.

There is a lot of talk about this subject on other sites.

I have always used the Ford Gold as mentioned above along with a coolant filter kit and have had no problems.

A few people are recommending the new CAT Extended life coolant now by saying that it keeps the oil cooler and egr cooler from failing.

I will continue the Ford Gold because that's what it came with from the factory. The coolant filter will definitely extend the life of your EGR and Oil Coolers, regardless of which coolant you decide to use.

I for got mention the Motorcraft / Ford VC-8 (?) SCA additive. About a quart IIRC.

X2 on the filter kit. Some filters are pre-charged with the SCA additive. I have to install a filter kit on mine too.
