It took 2.5 hours for me. I used my 1/4" cordless impact gun with a socket adapter and a loooong extension to reach the upper bolts. You really only need to looses the upper clamps enough to shove the new gasket in. The new gaskets are pliable. I had a stuck bolt on one clamp and was able to loosen the other bolt enough to pop it in the new gasket. The lower bolts are easy. Do not take the upper bolts all the way out. It is not necessary.

Oh, support your transmission and remove your cross member so you can pull the downpipe out of the way. It's pretty to do, but it may be intimidating at first. Once the downpipe is gone, the passenger side is a piece of cake. I spent under $100 at the dealer for new pipes and gaskets.

The Ones from Beans are Brass and are supposed to last alot longer $85 so we will see. So do you need to take the bottom part of the uppipe apart where it goes to the manifold? I'm pulling the turbo also because I'm putting a non ebv pedistal in at the same time.

HMM. I can't say as I didn't remove the turbo so that changes things a bit. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to loosen the manifold clamps during the job so you can get the pipes out of the wye.

Turbocharger exhaust inlet pipe-to-exhaust manifold bolts - 21
Turbocharger mounting bolts - 18
Turbocharger pedestal assembly mounting bolts - 18

This is what I found on the Ford tech site. I just snugged them up tight.

I have a set of the replacement gaskets from napa if you want them for 20 plus shipping lol I honestly wouldn't do anything but get the IH kit for 500 but I hear it's on backorder and IH is bumping up prices as people are holding onto and fixing their 7.3's....

Well, yes and no.

Many are, but if this one keeps pissing me off, it will get replaced with a 24v.

Those gaskets are easy. Yes, pull the turbo, loosen the connections at the exhaust manifolds, then the ones on the turbo inlet adapter. I put new IH gaskets in during this experience. Oh what an experience.
