Default Causes of bent push rods?

Other than high RPM, is there other common causes of bent push rods?

There are only two causes of bent push rods. Too stiff a valve spring or valves hitting solid objects (aka Pistons).

I had what looks like piston to valve contact, but not one bent pushrod...

It may have been just carbon build up on the valves, not sure.

If a piston and valve touch each other something is bent. Valve stem, rocker arm, push rod, etc.

Maybe if it hit while you were barring the engine over it'd be ok, but if it's running something will be bent.

Max acceptable TIR on the pushrods is something like .002 - have you checked them or did you eyeball them? Eyeballs are good for looking at boobs, need something more accurate for checking pushrods unless they are in a U.

Well I guess my roll across a table means squat... So how does a person know if you are even sold straight push rods?

You check them, or just hope for the best.
