Default 6.0L FICM

Has anybody heard if Ford is helping us out that own the 6.0L and thier problem with the inductive heating FICM strategy, which causes issues with the FICM , damaging bcause them due to excessive current draw.

Not that I have heard. They'll replace it as long as it is still under warranty, but there is no recall or campaign that I know about yet.

Personally I would just send the FICM off to an aftermarket company and have it reprogrammed and eliminate the garbage and tune up the programing a bit - even if you don't have them increase fuel delivery any.

The long and short of it is, the FICM is the 6.0 verson of the IDM in a 7.3. But it is bigger, badder and faster.

When does the smoke occur? Only at hot idle, cold idle, all the time?

How is the coolant level? Does it make any noise when you get the white smoke?

How many miles on it? Any codes?

Sounds like it probably has an injector issue, but there are several possibilities.
