Default 2007 6.0 Fuel Mileage

Currently drive a duramax getting 19-21 on fuel mileage. Was considering a switch to 07 6.0. Can anyone tell me what kind of mileage I can expect.

What kind of mods do you want to do to it? If it's a SWR 4x4 auto all stock expect to see around 12 in town and 15 on the highway unloaded. It depends a lot on what software it's currently flashed with. With intake, exhaust and GOOD tuning 15 and 20 is pretty common. Mileage depends more on the driver and conditions than anything so numbers are hard to nail down exactly.

Yep thats about what I got with mine 12 in town and 15-17 on the highway, with AFE cold air, Zoodad, Bullydog PMT, and TS MP8, I average around 21, can get it up around 25-27 on the highway. Still want to expand the exhaust possibilities.

What type of driving are you doing to get those numbers?

As others have posted and I have found around other forums 12+ for in town stop-n-go seems the norm. 15+ for HWY unloaded is common.

I get about 14+ in town, 16+ mixed HWY/City and 18+ straight HWY (last long trip). I haven't had a good HWY run in a long time to reverify those HWY numbers.

One thing to always remember when talking fuel economy - you need to hand calculate the number AND be sure to take into account the environment. A 20 mph head wind will absolutely KILL your fuel econmomy.

These trucks do real well at highway cruise. I continually get 19-20 (no wind, flat territory). They drop fast w/ the wind, with towing, and with city driving. Even though there is a big difference in the highway and city mileage, I still think they do pretty good to stay at 12-13 in heavy stop-and-go traffic.

I get 18 - 19 mpg on flat highway when keeping the RPM's under 1800.

Normal highway driving for me yields around 17mpg.

Wow! I came on looking to see what was wrong with this truck at such low MPG. I traded my '99 350 in for this '07 lariat crew and went from 20 MPG to 13 MPG on a good day. I bought it used and it has an after market intake so not sure what I can do to fix the low MPG.
